Titta lives and works from Tampere, Finland but also loves being on the road. She travels for workshops, tattooing and other projects.
Titta is an artist who loves asking strange questions, learning new and pushing her creativity forward.
Growing up in Finnish Lapland - in the middle of nowhere - created a strong bond with nature and solitude that is visible in her work.

Tattoos
Titta Free Bird has been tattooing over 10 years. (Her artist name is a tribute to her first own tattoo shop.) Her way of making tattoos has been described as painterly and there is a feel of being between real and surreal.
Lately, Titta has become more and more interested in mixing new elements, such as cyanotype art, into her work, trying to find new ways to create a tattoo.
Titta is a co-owner of Below Zero Tattoo Gallery, where she mostly works. The shop is very important to her, allowing her to pursue other projects and be surrounded by creative and talented artists.

The most recent love, cyanotype. The high contrast, almost dreamy blues started to inspire Titta in the beginning of 2022.
Her approach to cyanotype making is to plan the designs as she would design a tattoo: incorporating meaningful and symbolic themes with well-thought placement and interesting cropping of the picture. She uses her own photography, drawings and nature to bring the ideas to life.

You can find nature, mystique and solitude in the paintings created by Titta. She aims to portray her own inner world through characters, often displaying them alone in the frame, fragile and vulnerable but powerful.
