“Life and art are play for me, and meaning is given to it by other people in the same sandbox.”

Most important in tattooing

For me, the best part of my job is seeing what it means to the customer. Tattooing is a search for meaning, it is symbols, memories and scars. It's experiencing a certain time, idea or feeling as so important that you want to force it into shape and carry it on your skin. A permanent sign of passion that you want a piece of.

Opposites attract

I like hidden messages and symbols, encrypted meanings. Geometric shapes and the way we find symbols and meanings in nature are an endless source of inspiration. I get excited about the connection between nature and culture, different ways of experiencing and mysticism. I find a grip in psychedelic rock and rough black metal, really anything that feels strong. I like the combination of beauty with the ugly and the grumpy, and I refuse to make a distinction between high culture and everyday life. To me, Solomon's temple might be found in a junkyard. I am endlessly inspired by life stories, mysterious mystics, Dionysian rock gods, eccentric artists and people who believe in their ideas — in other words, my inner circle.
